Mooring
Most of our members boats are moored just off the Strand or off the Dockyard wall where the club administers designated mooring areas. The allocation and administration of mooring positions is the direct responsibility of the club’s mooring master. These are accessed by dinghy from the slipway at the Strand.
There are two types of moorings available either member moorings or club moorings. A member moorings is supplied, laid, maintained and inspected annually by either by the club member themselves or one of the commercial businesses on the river. Whatever method is chosen it must be appreciated that the mooring remains the responsibility of the member and will require inspection and maintenance every year.
A club mooring is supplied, laid, maintained and inspected annually by the club on the behalf of the member using it. (This was introduced to help new members who may not be able to afford new rising tackle.)
Mooring Fee:
Members mooring fees are £165.00 per Annum
Club mooring fees are £500 Per Annum
During the winter most boats are either hauled out or laid up in a mud berth. Space for either is limited and application must be made to the Berthing Master.
Each boat that is to be hauled out has to have an appropriately constructed trolley. These trolleys are usually made from lorry axles and steel frames.
There are three slipways, two winches and a tractor. Use of the slipways, winches and tractor must be pre-booked as only trained club members are insured to use this machinery. A jet wash is also available to scrub off. The club owns two work boats and a mooring platform, which members may use to lay and service their moorings.
